It has been a busy week for us here at Layston Grove, as well as our usual activities we’ve been getting ready for our world cruise.

There is much to be done to be ready to set sail; the itinerary has been compiled and the route is planned, the cruise liner has had a lick of paint and a spruce up and we are ready to experience the trip of a lifetime from the comfort of our own home.

This cruise will be the focus of our activities over the next few weeks, we will be learning new things about the countries we visit as well as tasting the cuisine and experiencing the culture. We are looking forward to testing our newly acquired knowledge taking part in quizzes and to hearing stories from the team and our fellow residents about their travels and adventures.

Our first stop will be China, just in time for the Chinese New Year on 1^st February; this year is the year of the tiger, it is said that those born in this year are said to be brave, confident, unpredictable and competitive.

We are all looking forward to setting sail on our voyage of discovery, we’ll send you a postcard.
