We have had a lot of fun this summer here at Layston Grove, we've been busy, we’ve celebrated VE Day and the jubilee, we’ve received visits from a whole host of animals, we've been out and about visiting parks and rivers, garden centres and pubs, we've spent the day with alpacas, we've hosted a dog show and other community events and we've whiled away many a happy hour sipping G&T in the garden, admiring the scenery.
The summer is almost over but we will continue making the most of the warm weather and getting out whenever we can. This week we visited the Whitewebbs Transport Museum in Enfield. What a wonderful place!
Whitewebbs is home to an array of classic vehicles spanning the past 120 years. They also have 40 vintage motorbikes, a 1961 railway carriage, a 1921 fire engine, and an 1896 steam fire pump, many of them, we’re told are in good working order.
We had such a lovely day, we took a leisurely walk down memory lane, reminiscing about the cars that we’ve owned over the years and the journeys that we have made in them, we took a delicious picnic with us, which we ate in the sun, it was perfect picnic weather.
We will definitely return to the museum, there was so much to see it was hard to take it all in in one day.
