The Chinese zodiac is a traditional classification scheme based on the lunar calendar that assigns an animal and its reputed attributes to each year in a repeating twelve-year cycle. This year is the Year of the Rabbit, people born in this year are said to be vigilant, witty, quick-minded, and ingenious. Albert Einstein was born in the Year of the Rabbit, as was Andy Murray.
We had a wonderful time celebrating this week, we spent a lot of the week preparing, creating and hanging some beautiful decorations, creating the right atmosphere. Crafting is something many of us enjoy and it is always nice to see our handywork on display.
The dining room was spectacular, our Chinese lanterns had been hung around the room, they looked so authentic. The tables were beautifully laid with chopsticks and fortune cookies and our chef had done an amazing job with the menu; the food was delicious. Some of us tried to use the chopsticks with quite hilarious consequences.
What a fabulous way to see in the Chinese New Year, great company, great fun, and great food, it was perfect.
